I bought this gutter cleaning item several years ago and it was a lifesaver in our situation. Copper gutters on a lake house w/ LOTS trees - not an easy solution to keep gutters from clogging up but this item saved us a ton of money had we had to call in the professionals to clean our gutters multiple times per fall. We attached it to a small, 2 speed electric blower (round opening is a must.) If you have to get out a ladder to reach upper level gutters (which we don't)at least it is light weight and not too unwieldy. I am buying one today for our son. Make sure you check out the shape of opening on your blower.

This is in response to Mark Horton. Not sure how to get the comments to him. Maybe he will read this. I went to Lowes and they had my Model Toro Blower. They also have the Weedeater Blowers and the Gutter attachment sold separately. They had the gutter attachment pieces laying out on the display shelf and so I experimented in the store with how to hook it up to the Toro. It hooks up fine if you go to the area where they sell PVC pipe and look for a rubber 3" X 3" coupling with the metal screw clamps on each end. I brought it home, hooked it up directly to the straight lengths not using the lower elbow and adapters. I hooked it up directly to the Blower body and positioned the screw clamp on the underside where the Toro plastic safety and electric housing lines up. I connected the housing and then held it tightly in place with cord wrapped around and tied to the handle. But the rubber coupling holds the blower elements very firm and no way it will come loose if screws are tightened... Read more

I have used it several times now and it does what it says, I should mention that when you have air moving through it it acts a little like a jet engine so its not as easy to use as it would seem. Its not rocket science but it does take a bit of effort to hold it in place when you have all the extentions attached and trying to hold a blower AND trying to keep it from blowing itself off the roof :) I still would have bought it but I am wiser now, you need a break after using it.
UPDATE DECEMBER 2009: Just wanted to say I still use it and its still an armful when you get more than 2-3 of the pipes connected, BUT it still does the job I bought it to do and that is to clean out the gutters without me having to drag out a ladder and dance around on the roof. If you've wrestled with reloading a string trimmer spool until you were ready to spit briars, you'll appreciate this replacement head.

I had a lot of doubts it would work. I didn't think the strings would stay in, and I didn't think the tri-cornered head would stand up to the kind of abuse it was sure to get.

I've used it a half season now, and I am very happy with it. I use regular trimmer replacement line. I just cut a handful of replacements to length from the spool and stick them in my pocket, and off I go.

Replacing lines is a snap. You just push what's left of the old line through, and stick the new one in. Internal clamps hold it in place.

I haven't had one get snatched out of the head yet. Most just wear down until they need replacing, or get sheared off by the occasional sharp object. The bottom line is I'm using a lot less string.

PIVOTRIM Trimmer Head - (Better Heads LLC - 1101PTC)
Superb product. I have an Echo trimmer. My original head was throwing line out, especially after hitting an object. Went to a local homeshow and saw a booth advertising the Pivotrim. Although skeptical about booths at such shows, I thought I'd give it a try. Installation was not hard AFTER I figured out that the threads on the shaft were reverse threads (turn CCW). Performance is absolutely superb. When it hits objects, it bounces back, so the line lasts much longer. It uses line that is .095 inches in diameter. Buy from Pivotrim outlet or just go to your local hardware store for any standard line of that thickness. Cut length according to your trimmer. It's as good as the advertisement says!

For my Craftsman convertible trimmer the installation was easy. However, be aware that the line is not as indestructible as the commercial depicts. The commercial shows six inches of line along a brick wall and coming out with the same six inches. Not happening. True the line does not break but it does wear down quickly.

Although, I never had a problem with line breakage, bump issues and refilling were a pain. So this product adequately solves those issues. Not quite trimming heaven but I'm satisfied with PivoTrim until I find something better. Overall, I would say it is a worthwhile purchase.

I was somewhat skeptical of this product, for it sounded too good to be true. Plus its commercial made it out to be some type of ginsu trimmer head, cutting through metal and such. I was desperate though, I bought a new Echo trimmer several months back with a speed change head. When trimming my chain link fence, I literally had to change the line every 5-7 feet. It almost rendered the trimmer useless.

So I purchased this Pivot Head. Looking at the instructions, which were somewhat useless, I actually had to pull out my trimmer owner's manual to figure out how to pull off the original head. The Pivot Head actually seemed in many ways inferior to the original head I just removed; it was much lighter and made of less quality material. I almost didn't even install it. Glad I did though the whole install only took about 15 minutes.

An easy-to-load fixed-line head designed for use with FlexiBlade trimmer line. These heads also work with all types and sizes of trimmer line, and fit the majority of counterclockwise turning trimmers. Jet-Fit heads mount on trimmers using the trimmer's blade bolt or nut and one of the basic adapter washers included (8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm) or the reduction-ring adapter for trimmers requiring a 20mm arbor. The adapters packaged with Jet-Fit heads also include several others for fit-up to trimmers having different mounting requirements.Four line JET-FIT head for use on trimmers of 40 cc displacement and larger. Includes four pre-cut FlexiBlade segments. To set the trimmer line securely, give a slight tug backwards to insure a secure fit. I'm attempting use the 4-line Jet-Fit on a Stihl FS 250 brush cutter. Though I've followed the rather limited installation instructions provided by Oregon for mounting the Jet-Fit on a Stihl powerhead, I cannot get the Jet-Fit to "lock down" on the powerhead. Instead, when power is applied, the head does not spin; or it spins minimally, with no real cutting force. I've now spent about two hours of my time, and close to $60.00 of my money, on a piece of equipment that does not work -- even though Oregon lists the FS 250 (with a 40 cc gas-powered engine) as one of the brush cutters that will work with the Jet-Fit.

I'm sad to say that I don't recommend the Oregon 4-line Jet-Fit.

This item works great. The nuts provided with it did not. I had to get a different nut than the two they shipped with this package to make it work with my echo weedwacker. You can use some huge string with this thing and it will go through alot more than the standard string. Be careful around things you dont wnat damaged it will do alot more than before this. It came with some gator line samples and they worked well also.
